2011 marks Tom’s 20th summer at Laurel overseeing our 50-person athletics department. A former Big East basketball player at Georgetown, Tom is a PE teacher and high school basketball coach in Frederick County, Maryland. Tom took his team this year to the conference tournament. He is joined each summer by wife, Stacey, and their four boys.

Wheaton High School teacher and track and field coach in Maryland. Collegiate track standout at Lock Haven University. 10th summer on the shores of Echo Lake. Pittsburgh Steelers fan to the end...and a true Laurel mainstay!
Holly Williams
Waterfront Director
33rd Year at Camp
Biology teacher and coach at St. George’s School in Newport, Holly makes sure safety and fun are the hallmarks of our waterfront. Master’s from Syracuse University. Oversees swim, small crafts, and water-ski. Grew up as a camper at Laurel and met her husband Warren at camp in 1980. Thirty-third year at camp. Unofficial camp historian.
Zack Pettijohn
Adventure and Interarts Director
11th Year at Camp
Zack teaches high school art and adventure in Aztec, New Mexico. Drury College graduate. Oversees our adventure program, comprised of climbing, high ropes, mountain biking and tripping, and also manages our inter-arts department. He ensures each aspect of our highly structured adventure and arts programs is safe, exciting and fun.
Pam Payson
Riding Director
6th Year at Camp
In her current role as the IHSA Colby Sawyer College equestrian coach, Pam has more than 25 years experience running equestrian programs from beginner to elite levels. A former polo player and graduate of the University of Connecticut, Pam raises horses and manages her own horse farm in conjunction with her coaching duties at Colby Sawyer. Sixth summer running our equestrian program.
Adriano Cipriano
Tennis Director
9th Year at Camp
Country club pro in native Brazil. Owns and operates South American sports marketing firm. Former standout NAIA collegiate player and ranked as a Brazilian junior. Adriano and Gus are “Laurel tennis!”
Gustavo Andrade
Tennis Director
9th Year at Camp
Former head tennis coach at Bethel College. TranSouth conference coach of the year for three years. Former standout NAIA collegiate player and ranked as a Brazilian junior. A stalwart in the Laurel tennis world. Gustavo and Adriano are “Laurel tennis!”
