2013 is when it all began. I jumped off the bus, gave Jem my first fist bump of many to come, and ran under the tunnel of counselors. As I took my first step onto the Acadian lawn, little did I know that the Nightingales’ cabin before

From the countless bracelets made and stickers traded in Acadia, to Baxter scream and finally our Super Senior Summer, the bond we have made over the years can never be broken. back out onto the blue rock. I remember sitting as a wide-eyed Acadian girl while a Super Senior told me that camp is a marathon, not a sprint. At the time, I never thought it would be my turn
to cross the finish line. As my flame as a Laurel camper goes out tonight and I hear Taps one last time, I want to say to all of you: camp isn’t just a place, it’s a part of all of us. The years you spend in 04355 will fly by but, if you take the time to build friendships and memories that will stay with you forever, the Laurel Spirit will live on in you. And then, when it’s your time to lead the final campfire and have hundreds of eyes looking at you, you will be okay
