When S-Days and Extended trips grew near Extended trips were the summer’s highlight

The roads of Maine called and took me away, For they transported me far and wide,
I traveled its route toward the rocky coast
To Agawam’s Six Flags and the Hard Rock Caf́

To Ogunquit, Old Port and Boothbay;
To New Hampshire’s Whites and Attitash slides;

I shopped and meandered the coastal towns I white-watered the rapids down the Kennebec Laurel

Even took a boat ride to view harbor seals,
Hot-tubbed and hiked in Sunday River’s resort, launc
I bought souvenirs and saw the Sea Dogs play Jet-boated down Montreal’s Lachine
a bungee

And ate boiled lobster for my meals;
Before returning to Laurel, my home port.
