Equestrian Staff

Madi Aleman Stephenville, TX
Sophomore at Tarleton State University studying psychology. Rides for her school’s equestrian team competing in dressage. Spent the past two summers working at a day camp teaching equestrian and has also provided lessons through her 4-H Club. Also extensive experience with stable management and has run a 60 stall training barn.

Brooke Belden Arnold, MD
Captain of the Bethany College equestrian team; competes in dressage and hunt seat. Worked at a small riding camp last summer. Started competing when she was eight and never stopped. Currently a sophomore studying social work. The great state of Maine welcomes you, Brooke!

Paige Furtaw Marriottsville, MD
Has been riding for 15 years in the disciplines of jumpers, eventing, and equitation. Junior at Penn State studying animal science. Was a volunteer counselor for three years at the Pony Centre in Virginia where she worked with children of all skill levels. Grew up going to horse camp and it’s always been a favorite memory. Can’t wait to share her passion with all Laurel campers!

Lotta Keller New Haven, CT
Started riding at age six; now practices dressage and jumping. Currently plays polo for Yale where she is studying political science. Completed an intensive equine science course where she gained hands on experience in stable management. Has worked with children in many facets including one of her favorite passions, teaching. Currently works at Yale where she teaches English as a second language to German community members. Welcome to Laurel equestrian, Lotta!

Ally Scholefield Lake Oswego, OR
Recruited as a NCAA Division 1 rider at University of Tennessee. Was awarded the United States Equestrian Award all four years of her high school riding career and was the North American League National Equitation Champion. Has shared her impeccable skill set by working as a riding coach at various day camps for the past few summers.

Sydney Stanion Portland, OR
Sophomore at Dickinson College where she studies neuroscience and competes in dressage and hunt seat for the equestrian team. Has been working at a therapeutic riding center the past two summers and works as a peer mentor at Dickinson. Outside the barn, Sydney works at her local craft studio where she helps run birthday parties and other events.

Maggie Stuart Derby, MT
After an incredible first summer in ’16, we’re so excited to have Maggie back for round two in Equestrian. Mount Holyoke collegiate rider; international relations major and sophomore. Has been riding for 17 years and has competed in every equestrian discipline. Six-year barn assistant managing up to 45 horses and helping with cleaning, graining and blanketing.

Rebecca Szabo Budapest, Hungary
A Laurel riding star in ’15 and ‘16, Rebecca returns for summer #3 in Laurel equestrian. Accomplished rider with years of experience. Recent graduate of Eotvos Lorand University in Budapest. Loves bringing her warmth and know how to all her lessons up at Laurel Equestrian. We’re excited to have Rebecca back in Readfield this summer.

Anna Meszaros Mogyorosbanya, Hungary Barn Assistant
With 12 years of riding experience under her belt, Anna is thrilled to call Laurel equestrian her summer home. Grew up competing in dressage, went on to volunteer at the barn where she trained. In her first Laurel summer, Anna will take care of our two 12-stall barns and 22 horses and ponies. We’re so excited that Anna made the trip to Maine!
