Coach Fierro returns for summer #15 at Laurel. During the year, Eric is the Assistant Coach of the Stockton University’s Men’s Basketball Team, a Division III national contender, as well as a New Jersey Southern Regional High School teacher and football and basketball coach. Eric won the 2014-15 South Jersey Coach of the Year award and spent more than a decade supervising the New Jersey Southern Regional Schools’ extended school year special education program. In 2021, he won District Teacher of the Year and was a finalist for New Jersey Governor’s Educator of the Year. In his college days, he was the quarterback and punter for Ursinus College in Pennsylvania. Coach Fierro is the man! He infuses positive energy into every aspect of Laurel athletics.

Geoff Williams

Waterfront Director

A true Laurel lifer, Geoff has spent every summer of his life at camp … literally. He returns for his 39th year to the shores of Echo Lake as our Waterfront Director, having previously worked as the Co-Program Director, head of small crafts and a sailing counselor. Geoff graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology where he captained the sailing team. He brings a lifetime of Laurel knowledge to our waterfront, and we’re so lucky to have him with us again!

Danny Walsh

After five amazing summers leading our Waterskiing team, Danny’s back for summer #6 to lead our incredible waterski department and also assumes the position of Co-Waterfront Director. Danny’s also jumping into the campus side of life and will help lead our Super Seniors. He brings more than a decade of camp experience as a camper, counselor and program manager with him to Echo Lake. Danny met his wife, Lexi, our Bec and Bago Head Counselor, at camp. We’re thrilled to have Danny’s experience and energy back in Readfield!

26th Year at Camp

A Drury College graduate with his MBA, Zack teaches building trades at San Juan College in New Mexico. Zack is the perfect fit for overseeing Climbing and the Aerial Park while also managing our vast InterArts department, encompassing performing, visual and culinary arts. He ensures that each aspect of our highly structured adventure and arts programs is safe, engaging and fun. We look forward to having Zack back for his 26th year!

How ‘bout a big Laurel welcome to Joe, who makes his Laurel debut in 2026! Joe is a graduate from Thomas More College and long-time PE Teacher at Cincinnati Waldorf School. An avid outdoorsman, Joe brings extensive experience in archery, hiking, volleyball, and a wide range of adventure-based activities. Joe, his wife, and their two adult children have spent years hiking and climbing their way across the country, and he brings that same spirit of adventure to Laurel. We’re thrilled to have Joe with us in Maine!

Becky Avila

Becky is back and joins the Laurel Five-Year Club. She earned her degree in Recreation Systems and Management from San Diego State University, and previously served as an Assistant Campus Leader and Assistant Program Director. Becky was also the Program Director at a California Day Camp and this year was a leader at a Fitness Center in Hawai’i. We know Becky will be an absolute star in her new role leading our InterArts team!

Igor Golubovic

Igor makes his Laurel debut to lead our Tennis Program and we couldn’t be more excited! Igor has the personality, skill, leadership training and experience to lead this important Laurel program. He played collegiately at Ottawa University in Kansas and has been coaching at Boca Grove Country Club the past seven years. Igor’s experience on the court and ability to connect with players make him a natural leader. In addition, Igor ran the tennis program at a fine girls camp in Maine before joining us at Laurel. Igor’s excited to create a fun, challenging and supportive environment on the Laurel courts, and we have no doubt he’ll be an Ace this summer!

Alli Antoniadis

Alli returns for summer #2 to lead our Equestrian program and we couldn't be more excited for her return! She has extensive experience riding, teaching, training and caring for horses, having begun riding at the tender age of eight. Alli and her family have been training and taking care of horses for more than a decade and now run their own equestrian facility, Southside Equestrian in Loxahatchee, Florida. As a rider, Alli has competed in the “A circuit" and is known in the equestrian world as a young and accomplished expert. Alli brings with her a wealth of knowledge and we’re excited to have her leading our extensive riding program and overseeing our 19 ponies and horses!
